Hungry Hummingbird

A female ruby-throated hummingbird is feeding on a colourful buffet of lantana at the Ottawa Experimental Farm's Ornamental Gardens one hot and sunny September afternoon. While it might seem odd that this lady has stayed until mid-September, it's on par for now. We'll know if migration has been pushed back or has taken longer if she is not gone by the beginning of October. More photos on Instagram @danidmedia. Adult males leave first in July, then the adult females follow.
