I was told about there being swans on a nearby lake, so I jumped in the truck and drove to the location. There were three trumpeter swans and they were just swimming out from behind a little island. They swam until the reached the shore and preened for a little bit, then tucked in behind a curve of the lake. Then I could hear them taking off and thought I missed it, but then they flew right towards where I was sitting!
