The Burmisanu is a limber pine located in the community of Burmis, Alberta. The tree died in the late 1970s after losing its needles. Limber trees are known to survive harsh conditions and are one of the longest living trees in Alberta. This Burmis tree was estimated to be between 600 and 750 years old.

Wonderful composition and detail, Clifford. It's remarkable that the trees are still standing, and so eloquently, against such a beautiful background and a great story to tell.

Great story and great photo to go with it. I love the framing....the mountains in the background, but the tree silhouetted against the sky. Nice job.
