Pecking Order

I stumbled upon a scene where eagles were feasting on a deer carcass. In the background, an immature eagle waited its turn, while two older eagles—one around four years old, the other over five—battled for the last scraps of the remains. The carcass, having been there for at least a couple of days, had already nourished not only eagles but also crows, coyotes, and other scavengers. Shot handheld, approximately 200m away.
