One of my favourite things about great grey owls is their magnificent wings. I love seeing them unfurl and how effortlessly they take them to neighbouring trees without a sound and in just a few wing beats. I was fortunate on this day to have been able to watch it successfully hunt two voles before retreating to a nearby tree top.
