Usualy the osprey spot a fish from high above and plunges verticaly to pick it up. This one made few crashes while flying low over the water at fast speed. He never succeed catching a meal and I don't think he was trying to do so. May be that's the way he take a bath but he sure made a lot of nice flying droplets I was happy to freeze. (Taken aug 2024)

Maybe he was testing the waters for new fishing possibilities or just having a bit of fun. Splash shots are fun to photograph too.

You definitely caught the splash nicely Yves. I am anticipating the return of the Osprey to Manitoba. I would love to get a water dive shot like this one.
