Spotted during a heavy snowfall in rural Alberta, this pair of Mountain Bluebirds (Sialia currucoides) perched calmly on a fence line, defying the elements with quiet resilience. The male’s vibrant blue and the female’s softer hues were a striking contrast to the whitened prairie. Their presence in such harsh conditions is a beautiful reminder of the endurance and adaptability of Canada’s wildlife—even the smallest creatures have stories worth telling.
