Sandhill Crane

Come spring Sandhill Cranes migrate to their breeding ground in northern Quebec. On their way they stop to feed and rest in Dundee, early morning I went up to the top of the observation tower and surveyed the horizon. When I heard their distinctive calls I knew they were close but didn't expect the birds to be right atop of me. I just had the time to swing the lens/camera vertically, adjust focus and click away!
