This was interesting to come across. I was photographing wildflowers when I looked over at a rose bush and these caught my eye. I snapped some photos, not knowing what they were, but they peaked my interest. I did a google search and was surprised to find out these are caused by a rase gall wasp laying eggs and the rose bush then develops a gall around the eggs as a defence mechanism. How cool is that??
