Bonaparte's Gull Chick

I am not sure what the adult gulls were upset about but their vocalizations got me curious. I could see 3 little chicks on a log at the water's edge but could not see what the alarm cries were about. The chicks were walking back and forth on the log and due to the heavy grass coverage, I only managed a few clear shots.
