A recently fledged Kestrel with one of it's first kills, a kildeer chick. At first I wondered why the young kestrel was carrying a stick, but when it went into a tree and started what can only be described as a triumphant vocalization, I had a closer look at my image and saw the kildeer in the kestrel's grasp.
