As the daylight moves past the trees and starts to fade the Common Mergansers move into the bay for a quiet swim and get together. It is not uncommon to see 3 or 4 females taking in the landscape as they rest on the end of the dock.

I like so much the calm and serene mood of that photo Debra. The fact that the bird is faded with poor details is a good thing. It adds up to the mood. You know how I love waters. The water and reflection that surround the bird is just perfect. Very well done.

Nothing beats a great profile shot of the common merganser like this, Debra. They have a look all their own and this image captures that perfectly. The rippled reflection adds a nice finishing touch.
