A female osprey rests with one of its two chicks in its nest along a waterway. According to the Cornell Lab, the osprey readily builds its nest on manmade structures, such as telephone poles, channel markers, duck blinds, and nest platforms designed especially for it. This nest was found on one of those nest platforms in the area.
