A Great Grey Owl rests on a tree In a forest that was subjected to a fire. The hint of pink is from the fireweed that now carpets the forest floor. Fireweed, or Chamaenerion angustifolium, is an opportunist plant that takes advantage of a forest cleared by wildfire.
