    On a mountain run in the Whistler backcountry at the beginning of July, we gained the ridge above Iceberg Lake and dropped down to the snowfield that leads to the lake. From my vantage point my friends running across the snow looked unimaginably tiny against the soaring of Rainbow Mountain above them.
