I believe this is a nonbreeding/immature Greater Yellowlegs. The juveniles have crisp markings and are browner. Picture taken where the Red River floodway empties back into the Red River in Lockport Manitoba.

Great profile shot of this beautiful bird, Debra. He chose a great lookout spot for hunting and for the lady with the camera too :) Lovely mood, tones and detail here.
