There are a few plants and animals who have “canada” as part of their latin names. Anemone canadensis is one such plant despite the reality that it’s indigenous to locales across North America. This particular Canada Anemone resides in our yard. The species is a member of the buttercup family of plants. A close look at the bloom may reveal a few similarities to the much loved small yellow flowers that decorate many lawns at this time of year. I made this image looking towards the West at sunset to backlight the flower and provide some fun bokeh.
