It has been years since we visited Cape Breton in the fall, each year we always promised ‘next year!’ This year we decided to make it a day trip, the weather wasn’t the best, but the colours were still spectacular. As we started to head for home, we decided to make one last detour around Mabou Harbour and it did not disappoint - the water was calm until the fish started jumping and as it settled again the sun slipped down below the clouds and there she was in all her glory - Cape Breton at her best in her finest fall colours and it was spellbinding! For the next few minutes as the sun hit the trees just right and the colours truly came to life, I could not believe my eyes - what a perfect end to the day!
