This juvenile Sharp Shinned Hawk flew into the scene where I was recently looking for a known Soar that had been seen at Virginia Lake in Urban St John's Newfoundland. Happily this lovely hawk flew into the scene , I was more than thrilled to be able to photograph it...The colour of its eyes ID this beauty as a juvenile, as they mature, their eyes turn a brilliant orange . Cornell's States that this species of hawk is the smallest in all of Canada.
