Barred Owl

report
by Isabelle Pollock from KINGSTON CA on 17 Dec 2025

It is not unusual to see a barred owl when hiking in the woods. What was unusual on this particular day was encountering eight separate barred owls within a small area. At first, I assumed I was seeing the same owl repeatedly. However, it soon became clear that these were distinct individuals when multiple owls were observed at the same time.
