Last Standing, Dorothy, Alberta

report
by Freaktography from Burlington CA on 16 Jan 2026

The former grain elevator at Dorothy rises alone above the prairie east of Drumheller. Founded in 1911 as a small railway and farming service town, Dorothy faded after rail service ended in the late 1960s. Today, this solitary structure is one of the last physical reminders of a community shaped by agriculture, railways, and the harsh realities of prairie life.
