Waxing Crescent Over Fredericton

One of my favourite phases of the Moon - the waxing crescent. I hopped out of the car in -30 degree winds to grab this capture earlier in January 2026. During the waxing crescent phases of the Moon, it's easy to see the "Earth shine" phenomenon. A moment where sunlight reflected off the Earth illuminates the darker portion of the Moon.
