They form strong bonds, the dominate mare becomes the natural leader guiding the herd to new feeding grounds and nurturing the young. The dominate stallion is the protector and will defend the herd from all threats. He will place himself between the threat and the herd. Awesome seeing these horses in a natural rugged environment.
