Long-tailed Duck

My brother and I were out looking for some wild onions and on the way back, I noticed an odd, lonely duck on the lake. I pulled over to get a better look and saw a long tail. I have never seen a duck like this before, so I grabbed my gear and got some photos, but it was pretty far for that lens, so we rushed home and I grabbed my largest lens and tripod. When we got back, he was still there, which made me so happy. The wind was picking up, creating some big waves on the lake, and he just surfed along. He must have either been blown off course, or taking a break, I have never seen one here before and it was just him by himself. So fortunate to have spent some time with this amazing duck.
