This is a handsome male Evening Grosbeak a Boreal species that is seen in most Canadian provinces , this bird in particular is one of many Grosbeaks that have been frequenting our feeders this season in St John's Newfoundland. Starting in November members of a flock or maybe two or more have been visiting our feeders pretty much daily...a real treat!! The males are way more colourful than the females The back part of our residential lot is treed and these are some of the most unique visitors we've had this year!!! Sweet arent they!!
