To capture a train at this location under these conditions has long been a goal of mine over many years and failed attempts. Here the sun has to be in exactly the right place for the scene to come alive. Finally, there has to be a westbound train making its way along the colourful glacial fed Bow River, high in Canada’s Rocky Mountains. Everything aligned on this morning: the light, the landscape, and the arrival of the Royal Canadian Pacific. Its coaches, meticulously restored and updated, include cars that have witnessed nearly a century of CPR history. Up front, the F9s — polished to perfection in their Tuscan Red, Grey and Yellow heritage colours, shine like moving heirlooms. The final touch was the friendly engineer with an extra horn blast and a friendly wave.

Hight five for a great achievement Clifford. I also have some of those impossible shots that I hope I will realise on day. I know for long the pleasure you have to photograph the CP train. I have seen your shot at the reknown Moran's curve, done by millions of photographers. This one is as beautyful and your signature. From now on I will prefer this unique one because I don't know Moran.

I agree with Debra and Dennis. Everything was perfect.....and your persistence really did pay off. A keeper and one you should frame and put on the wall, Clifford. Well done!!

I am glad that everything aligned all at the same moment for you Clifford. You have a one of a kind composition captured perfectly. From the turquoise water, motion of the train to the mountains reaching into the clouds. Congrats on a gorgeous composition.
