A long time ago, in 1972, I had bought my first SLR camera, a Zenith-E. My father had Tasco 7 x 50 binoculars. I had unscrewed one of the lenses from that pair of binoculars to put it over my 55mm lens on the Zenith, which created a kind of magnifying attachment. With Kodachrome 25 ASA film, I took this shot. My first macro photograph. A green praying mantis, the female, and the brown one, the male, during mating season. I still have it, but the slide is starting to have blue spots.

  • Camera: Zénith-E
