Wings Over the Water

The osprey is one of nature’s most skilled fishing birds, living close to lakes, rivers, and coastlines where fresh catches are never far away. With incredible eyesight and specialized talons designed to grip slippery fish, these raptors can dive feet-first into the water and emerge moments later with their prey in hand. Watching an osprey hunt is a reminder of how perfectly wildlife adapts to its environment. For this image, I used a shutter speed of 1/400 sec to intentionally leave a slight blur in the wing tips, helping capture the feeling of motion and the power of flight rather than freezing the moment completely. Sometimes a touch of movement tells the story better than perfect sharpness. Photographed by Lou Fasullo Photography.
