This bird is displaying a dynamic behavior by raising its crown feathers. Siskins actively raise these head feathers when they feel agitated, threatened, or are engaged in territorial defense displays against surrounding birds. It is not liking the Goldfinch that are also presently in our yard and squabbles seem to break out all the time
