The Blue-Cyan Damselfly in a wider view.

In my previously published photos, I noticed a mistake that I often make: I enlarge the image too much in post-processing to get a closer view of a part of a dragonfly, for example the head, but at the expense of image sharpness. By staying at 2x as the post-processing enlargement factor (like in this image), the overall sharpness is better. The original image is already at a 1:2 macro factor with the 100 mm lens. I realize that these are the visually acceptable limits. As I have already said in a previous comment, to go further, a 200 mm Micro-Nikkor lens would be the ultimate step!

  • Camera: NIKON D750
  • Focal: 100 mm
  • Shutter speed: 0.001 sec
  • Aperture: f/ 9
