A female great horned owl holds the hindquarters of a rabbit in its beak. The remains of its prey was cached in this spruce tree and taken out to feed its three owlets that were nearby. After switching the morsel to its foot, the owl flew off to its young, tempting them to fly in order to get part of the rabbit.
