This passion is all my father's fault. He got me on this road when I was very young (8 years) by buying my first camera. I loved to shoot motorsport, and my father gave me his old Kodak Duo-620 camera. Roll film, bellows, one lens and completely manual exposure settings. Didn't even have an exposure meter. Had to use a handheld one. But I sure learned what all those f-stops and shutter speeds did. When I got a job in a camera store and was able to purchase my first Nikon Ftn, I knew how to make changes to exposure setting for different effects, and I could now change lenses. I was in my glory when I got a motor drive. Even though it weighed about 12 pounds. But I started getting my first paying jobs, some assignments and selling stock photos. Over the years I worked professionally for Chevron Canada, the University of BC (UBC), newspapers and have had my own business. I currently photography luxury homes, resorts and holiday destinations with my own company, Virtual Vision Photography. However, I always return to my passion, Mother Nature's world.
