My name is Kevin Xu, and I am a wildlife photographer currently located in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. As a kid growing up in urban areas on three continents, I didn't often get to see much wildlife. But I've always been curious and fascinated by the natural world. This passion led me to study marine and freshwater biology at university, and eventually brought me to Nunavut, where I fell for the landscape, wilderness, and people, and started taking photos. I've since lived in several northern communities, working as a science teacher, firefighter, and wildlife technician. Northern Canada has been my home for 11 years now, and I still get just as excited about it as I did on my first day stepping off that First Air plane.
