Patricia is a photographer and videographer who holds a BA, BFA, and MFA. Her journey from exhibiting artist to conservation photojournalism was far from linear; instead, her path was shaped by the intersection of opportunity and circumstance. A chance visit to a wildlife rescue centre reignited Patricia’s lifelong passion for animal welfare. There, she came to a powerful realization: every rescued animal was a victim of human interference. As habitats continue to dwindle, the survival of countless non-human lives hangs in the balance. She was called to use her talent and drive to advocate for conservation. Determined to be a voice for the voiceless, Patricia picked up her camera with a new sense of purpose. She shifted away from traditional photography to focus solely on conservation, shining a light on those caught between human expansion and the natural world. Through her lens, she captures the quiet resilience of animals—and the often invisible impact of human actions. Today, she is an award-winning Conservation Photographer and filmmaker. She was recently awarded the grand prize and title Bird Photographer of the Year, becoming only the second woman to receive this honour. Additionally, Patricia has earned recognition for photojournalism in prestigious competitions such as Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature Photographer of the Year, and Nature’s Best for her documentary film work. She is a confident, engaging public speaker promoting ethical photography practices and inspiring others to find their mission.
