Hong Nhung is also divided into 2 types: Shortfin Red Velvet and Longfin Red Velvet. They are quite popular in community aquariums for their beauty and ease of care, although they can become aggressive around other slow-moving and gentle fish. In the wild, this species prefers slow and still waters such as lakes, ponds, and streams. In the tank, they will accept almost any food fairly easily, including flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods. To keep them in their best condition and color, feed them a variety of foods, including live food, when available.</p>
