It’s a long story...well, I grew up in East Montreal in the French area, but i didn't learn french that well...then we moved to the english West Island...and then I was not first in the class anymore!! so all was well and I applied to and was admitted to the private boys' school Loyola in Montreal...there I did A's & B's until 3rd year and my interests began to change...so, after that was junoir college doing arts...that was good and then i applied to Ryerson University in Toronto for the Photographyhttp://markprestphoto.jimdo.com/ Program...many photos of band during the late 60's were lost from this time...ouch, they were not that great anyways...so here i met many local musicians and lived with them and my girlfriend whilst studying photography ... Later went thru alot of depression when the girl (a nurse) left with some other guy, i also had no inspiration for my photography, getting more into the music and becoming a musician, working at bars, restaurants, etc. Eventually I moved into my brother's in Ottawa but got kicked out because of the kind of music i played which was electric classical, not his bag! Also he thought the neighbors might complain… Then i became a school bus driver part time, and a landscaper, with my own company. I got good contracts but it was part time and I spent all the money... then, the early 90's and I’m joining concert bands on electric bass and local symphonies as a string bassist, eventually switching to violin for symphony and sax for band...also i was doing regular celtic groups and also church choirs...still poor though with no girls striking up any interest... Late 90's saw local TV appearances and actually running the TV cameras for the local cable company in the early 2000's shooting the National Art Centre performances etc. all this was still only volunteer though, boo! … 2010 and I've sort of given up on my solo thing of playing the bass guitar like a lute or a big electric classic guitar and thinking more of pop, composing, etc.... my own little photo studio has been up and running for over a year and I'm exhibiting at the National Library (not Gallery) and other galleries, contributing for the Photography Fest (Fest X) and other travelling shows.. So now 2013…I have been shooting for Ottawa Fashion Week, The Folk Fest and the Jazz fest, also the Music and Beyond Fest (classical music), getting good shots but money still lacking for equipment etc.. I miss those University and Television days when all equipment was supplied!
