This summer I’ve spent time with numerous Kingfishers but this particular encounter is very memorable! On a very calm morning I was quietly padding along the shoreline when all of a sudden I heard a kingfisher’s chattering call right behind me, so I slowly turned around while looking for the bird. He was still chattering but I couldn’t see him in the trees, he was literally right at the waters edge.
